Interactive Multimedia

Implementing an interactive multimedia poster will be something different for students. They are used to creating a slide show so this would be something different and fun for them. The interactive multimedia poster that I would use for my class is smore.com it could be used in many ways, user friendly, and has several templates they could use. I would implement the interactive multimedia poster for my 3rd grade class for my lesson on fractions. It would have all the information that I would need for my lesson plan and the students will know exactly what we would be doing for the day. I would also like for my students to get a chance to use it so, I would like to implement it for a social studies project or for a science experiment. Instead of them having to buy the poster board they would put all their information on the interactive poster. The ISTE standard for teachers that I would use for this lesson would be 2.5B design authentic learning activities that align with content area standards and use digital tools and resources to maximize active, deep learning. After giving my lesson on fractions they would have the interactive poster where the students will find information that I presented to them about fractions, and it will have videos that could help provide them further information if they have questions. It will also have the assignments and an online website that has several games on fractions where they could get more practice on. This will also help if we had to go to virtual classes again, they would be familiar with this program. The new skills and abilities that the students will be required to complete an interactive multimedia poster are collaboration, communication and creativity. They would need to be able to communicate their information by writing their information on the poster and be creative in how to organize it. If working with partners or a group, they will need to collaborate with each other to complete the project by learning from each other and making decisions. The advantages of implementing an interactive multimedia poster for our students is if they don’t need supplies to create their posters and they can’t say “I forgot it at home” because its online and all they need is their computer. A disadvantage about creating an online poster is that students are writing less but the use of technology is being used more now.
