Newsletter

As a future teacher, I will implement Crello tool for the students to create a newsletter or poster. It will maximize the students learning and engage learners in using technology to complete an assignment. It will be different from their usual assignments using paper. Crello is a good tool to use to create a newsletter because they have several templates that the students may choose from. In my second-grade class I will incorporate Crello for the students to create a newsletter/poster “All About Me” in the beginning of the school year. This will help for the students and teacher to get to know their classmate/student. For example: I would have them include what’s their favorite subject, favorite color, hobbies and to mention about their families (parents/siblings). Once created the student will need to present it to the class and I will post outside our class for other students and teachers to see. The ISTE standard for students that I choose is 6a students choose the appropriate platform and tools for meeting the desired objectives of their creation or communication. The student will be using Crello to create their poster about themselves and will need include a picture of themselves. Students will be able to learn how to use technology with this activity for education purposes. This would help them for the other technology assignments that I would incorporate into their education. Another advantage of them using technology for their assignments is that it will improve their knowledge of them using technology because they will continue to use it for the rest of their education years. One of the disadvantages that I could think of is showing the students how to use all the different tools. So, when introducing new programs to students as a future teacher I will need to add that to my lesson so it will take them few days for them to complete their work.
